About Mrs. Pannell
I love math, and I want my students to learn to love math.
I graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Audiology & Speech-Language Sciences and an MA in Education. I hold a Lifetime Texas Teaching Certificate and am certified by the Association of Classical & Christian Schools. With more than 30 years of math education experience, I am passionate about teaching math, and I really enjoy the online classroom, but even more specifically, I am excited to be part HSML teaching team. I was first introduced to HSML when our son was a homeschooled student. From my vantage point as a parent who was also a math educator, I very much admired the passion for math education and the encouraging learning environment each HSML teacher fosters in their classrooms.
I began serving as the registration coordinator for HSML in 2023 and continue in that role. Last year, I was excited to be back with students when I joined the teaching team. I am passionate about math and want my students to enjoy "playing" with numbers and problems. Pre-Pre Algebra and Pre-Algebra provide critical foundational skills that will benefit them as they advance in math. I am committed to providing the same high-quality instruction and care you expect from HSML.
The past few years have been a bit of a transition for my family. My son, David, is a senior at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, studying History and Theology. I currently live in Texas, but my husband, Mike, recently retired from Hewlett-Packard and is now a Professor of Engineering at Ouachita. We are currently maintaining homes in both Texas and Arkansas, and make the trip back and forth quite often. It’s a new season in life, and I’m excited that HSML is part of it.
