March 23 through May 15 (8 weeks)
Below is our course list with day/time options and content objectives.
The tuition includes a graded weekly assessment with personalized feedback.
Since it will be impossible to match the scope and sequence of each student's current class, we will teach the 2nd semester topics that every student must have in order to successfully move to the next course. Some topics may be a review for some students, but having a strong comprehension of these concepts will ensure that the student is prepared for their math class in the fall.
More Details:
** Our classes are live and interactive, but they are also recorded so students can view them later if they miss a class or if they just want to see something explained again. We teach using OneNote, and students can click on a link to see that notebook at anytime. Both of these are very convenient when a student is completing a homework assignment.
**Each week the teacher will email the parent a quiz or a test. The student will complete the assessment with you as their proctor, then you / they will return it as a PDF (which can be done using a free app.) Quizzes are due on Friday, and you will receive a grade and feedback that same day. When the assessment is a chapter test, it will be due on Sunday evening and grades/feedback are returned within 3 days. All assessments are completed with paper/pencil, showing work is required, and teachers take time to give excellent feedback. |
** HSML has NCAA approval for our classes, and California charter schools consider us as A-G classes (which means that we meet the standards required by the UC system as college -prep.) However, I can not obtain a national accreditation (or A-G approval on my own) because we only offer math and accreditation organizations only consider schools that offer all subjects. Also, of course we are only offering an 8 week course, it is not a full semester. So this class will not be eligible for an official credit from any organization. However, if your student needs to pass an end-of-course exam in order to get credit for a class at your local school, I am confident that the material we present will be relevant. And, if you have a practice test for that end-of-course exam, your teacher will be glad to look at that and give you any guidance you need. We also offer tutoring services in case there is something on the test that your student needs help with that is not covered in our 8-week class.

There are two options for what comes next:
- If there are enough students to "make" a class, we will form the new class.
- If there are not enough students to form a new class, we would be happy to include your child in an existing class. When a family moves and a student attends a new school, they jump in with the class wherever they are and everyone makes it work. We can do that too! If you register for the class and choose to no
