We want each student to be successful in learning mathematics. Each class session provides an opportunity for students to get immediate feedback. Teachers ask questions (a lot of questions!) and ask for student input via the chat box. Students typically will use the private chat to answer and ask questions. Since these are private chats, students can ask questions without feeling intimidated by not knowing the answer. As teachers are progressing through a lesson, they can adjust discussion and further questions based on the feedback they get from the students. All in real time!
A quiz or test is emailed to the parent by Wednesday of each week as a PDF file. The quizzes (40% of student grade) are generally due on Fridays and tests (60% of student grade) are due on Sundays unless the teacher has stated otherwise. After completion of the assessment, the parent will scan the document as a PDF and email it to the teacher. There are also free phone apps, for example, CamScanner or FastScan, that create PDF's using the phone. Upon receiving the assessment, teachers will work diligently to provide personal feedback and grades within 24 hours for quizzes and 3 days for tests for each student.
