At My Pace (AMP) Statistics Course Descriptions
High School Math Live Statistics uses “Elementary Statistics: A Step by Step Approach” textbook and is designed for students who are college-bound but are not planning to choose a STEM degree. The textbook says that, “The applications span a broad range of topics certain to appeal to the interests of students of diverse backgrounds and include problems in business, sports, health, architecture, education, entertainment, political science, psychology, history, criminal justice, the environment, transportation, physical sciences, demographics, eating habits, and travel and leisure.”
Statistics students must have already completed Algebra II with a strong understanding of the concepts presented.

High School Math Live wants your student to be placed in the appropriate AMP course so that they will be successful and challenged while learning the beauty of mathematics. Our Statistics (fall 2023) Course Preparedness Document contains questions we believe will be a good indicator of whether your student is ready for AMP Statistics Course A. Although it is not required that your student complete these problems, it is a helpful tool that we have prepared for you to use.
