At My Pace (AMP) Algebra I Course Descriptions

High School Math Live Algebra I uses the Glencoe Mathematics Algebra 1 textbook. This course lays the foundation for all of high school level mathematics. We would love to help your child see the beauty of mathematics as we demonstrate how each concept builds on the last one and fits in to the grand scheme of mathematics.  Algebra I is generally for an advanced 8th grade or on-level 9th grade student.  (If a student plans to take Calculus I in high school, they should register for this class in the 8th grade.)

High School Math Live wants your student to be placed in the appropriate AMP course so that they will be successful and challenged while learning the beauty of mathematics.  Our Algebra I  Course Preparedness Document contains questions we believe will be a good indicator of whether your student is ready for AMP Algebra I Course A.  Although it is not required that your student complete these problems, it is a helpful tool that we have prepared for you to use.   If you are entering the "B" course, and you are unsure if your student is ready for the "B" course, please contact [email protected].   ​
